New CEO for Gonvarri Material Handling in 2021

Sergio Rodriguez will become the new CEO of Gonvarri Material Handling (GMH) effective 1st of January 2021. Frank Pohl, who has led GMH for the last 6 years as CEO, will retire by the end of 2020.

Sergio Rodriguez is a Spanish engineer holding a PhD in Electronic / Electrical & Computing Engineering, as well as a Master in Business Management. Sergio started his career in Process Research Engineering at ArcelorMittal and has been with Gonvarri Industries for 10 years in various senior management positions including commercial and operations. Since 2017 he has been acting as the GM for the Gonvarri Industries `Automotive Business Unit` in Central Europe.

Josu Calvo – the CEO of Gonvarri Industries – said that “Sergio`s passion, commitment and innovative spirit, together with his trustful and appreciative leadership will serve our people, our customers and partners well and continue the successful journey of GMH. During the last years GMH has become, under Frank’s leadership, a leading European supplier of material handling equipment solutions for manually to fully automated warehouses”.

Frank will stay on board as a consultant for the next 12 to 18 months to facilitate, support and lead the new Business Unit `System Partners’, which exclusively supports the GMH business with System Integrators, who offer warehouse automation solutions.
